University Libraries Registration for Non-Penn Staters, Friends of Penn State |
|
Effective May 8, 2006, the Penn State University Libraries will move to WebAccess authentication for online Library services. All non-PSU Library users will need a Friends of Penn State account to access online library services such as My Library Account and online renewals.
Pennsylvania state residents not affiliated with Penn State may register with the University Libraries by presenting a PA Drivers' license or other proof of residency at a Library service desk.
In order to use I Want It (request items), My Library Account (renew checked out items, update your address, etc.), My Favorites (quick access to authors and subjects you search for frequently), and other resources requiring authentication in The CAT, non-Penn Staters must have a Friends of Penn State (FPS) Account ID. If you already have a FPS account at Penn State you do not need to create another one for library services.
Graduated or left the University? If you're a former Penn State student, faculty or staff member, you may register as a community borrower at a Library service desk, however you do not need to create a Friends of Penn State account. You may continue to use your University Access ID for online Library services and your Penn State ID+ card to borrow materials. Go to http://www.stayconnected.psu.edu/ for more information, and to change your Access password to a Friends of Penn State password.
Already registered with the Libraries as a Community Borrower? You'll no longer be able to access your library information online using your last name and Library card number. Friends of Penn State accounts are now required for authentication to library services. See links below to create a FPS account, or to update your Library record if you already have a FPS account.
Don't have a Friends of Penn State Account? Click below to create one. Please note that in order to create a FPS account, you must have an email address.
Forgot your Friends of Penn State password? Go to https://fps.psu.edu/pwreset/index.html to reset your FPS password. You don't need to create another FPS account.
Already have a Friends of Penn State Account? If you already have a FPS account and are registered to borrow materials from the University Libraries, you'll need to update your Library record with your FPS ID. You can update your record below. Please stop at a service desk at any Penn State University library if you need assistance.
